What is the Forbes Firewise wildfire safety group?
We are a group of Forbes area neighbors who have come together to make our neighborhood safer, educate our residents about wildfire safety, and prepare for emergency measures in the event of wildfire. For more information about our group, please read our Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I Iearn about wildfire fire safety?
Wildfire safety requires creating defensible space around your home, hardening your home against fire, and having an evacuation plan. Our group is intended to educate our residents on these important safety issues. We are fortunate to have a local group, Fire Safe Marin, whose primary purpose to advance the knowledge and preparedness of Marin's residents on wildfire preparation. Their website provides a wealth of fire safety information.
Our Defensible Space page describes how to manage vegetation and create defensible space around your house to ward off fire, the Home Hardening page describes how to make your house more resistant to wildfire, and the Evacuation page will educate you about how to prepare for an evacuation so you can leave your home in a moment's notice when necessary.
Be sure that you have signed up for the available alerting systems so that you will be notified immediately in the event of wildfire danger in our neighborhood.
